Nuthatches are calling here too, and the rooks are busy at the local rookery. Spring is coming. I'm expecting to see the lapwing coming back in a couple of weeks. I've given up on ever seeing another waxwing. |

At K's parent's place yesterday, and it was all happening on the feeders: 3 redpoll, Mr & Mrs blackcap, coal tit, nuthatch, possible siskin, as well as all the usuals (including squirrels). Seen less on reserves some days!

Half a dozen Goosander at Attenborough this morning, maybe the cold snap has brought them back.

I’ve not seen a Siskin for ages. I keep checking the top of for trees in hope.... I think waxwing are one of my favourite. I always think of them as the Chris Packham of the hird qorls with their ‘hair’ style 😀 |

GSW drumming and nuthatch calling, while I was marshalling at parkrun this morning. Birds gearing up for spring, even though it's about the harshest it's been all winter.

Siskins and redpolls on my feeders most days at the moment. We had a treecreeper having a quick look at a fat block the other day. That was a first. The blue tits seemed to be making it uncomfortable, so it didn't hang around.

Also a firecrest at Attenborough, near the level crossing on the entrance towards the visitors centre.
