2.4km in the pool this morning. Took an hour so I need to free up 2 hours when BE is open to go further. Hopefully the weekend afternoon hours from June should help.

I saw a really big fish last night too - it was black - that is as far as my knowledge on fish goes! I was pretty tired and I kept my dry robe on whilst eating my dinner and putting B to bed but nothing that a good shower and a good night sleep didn't fix. |

Yep, definitely very dark colour and a very pointy face.

May well be a pike. Watch out for your toes.

Mother T: I’m Not sure I’ve ever experienced this but I know with improvements and swimming there does seem to be a plateau, followed by an improvement, then more plateau...there are some experienced swimming coaches on here that might have more insight.

We are away this week down in Dartmoor and just swam at by far the best ever facility I have used. There is a private school in Tavistock (Mount Kelly) that opens its pool(s) to the public at certain times. Used the 50m pool (they have a 25m one as well) which was my first time, as always use 25m in past. Never had markers every 5m on the bottom of the pool either. Found it a bit harder at times with 50m as don’t get the push off the side as much but lovely swim. If anyone is ever in the area I can highly recommend it. £4 as well which was very good. |

That's interesting Daz, a friend's son is a pupil there (he's an awesome swimmer and the school specialises in combining swim training with normal academic stuff) but I didn't know it was open to the public in the holidays!

It’s open all year round to the public from what I understand. See an annual membership notice (£300) up in reception as well. |

Happy and pleasant pool swim today after a shocker Monday. (MOnday was a shocker because the pool temp was 31 deg - heater thermostat on the blink and I blew up....too hot...) |
