nicholls - that's exactly why I like it, because one or two is enough when you drink something which is fundamentally quite a heavy concoction . proof of the pudding with going sober is that i can draw the line vigilantly at a couple with any AF stuff, yet when I was on the poison I needed anything up to a dozen (and sometimes beyond). Dio, alcohol is a cunning bu%$r and has lots of wee trick to tempt you back! I think I had similar thoughts after the early days, as well as thoughts such as, "it wasn't too hard to stop so I could just have a couple tonight and start again tomorrow"...... Don't let it fool you! You are doing awesome! |

^ I did that SO many times with cigarettes. But I tell you what, I'll just stop for today, how does that sound?

Yep, I often went months without drinking and managed to convince myself all was now ok and that I could clearly stop at will. I never could.

Stef my wife offered me some Baileys to put on a (rather dry) bit of choc pud recently but I turned it down. I know if I have one drink or even a proper taste that I’ll be back drinking and I really don’t want to

Bloody binge drinkers. Never did understand them. [if this turns out to be an AA in-joke apologies ] |

Woke up today with a sore throat and headache, feeling pretty crummy ... it's my seasonal hay fever kicking in. Reminded me what a hangover feels like! 23 days done.
