All the outfield players on that bench would have walked into the Arsenal starting XI yesterday

A section of their support is known for being particularly vicious and Neanderthal, and Warnock is a sanctimonious self-serving prick.

For the benefit of anyone who still thinks Everton were rash for getting rid of Sam Allardyce.

We had more shots on target in the 50 minutes we played on Saturday with 10 men than we did in almost half of all Sams full games last season.

Good riddance....

One of them Foden is a product of the youth, and I expect more to follow. If you visited the Etihad and witnessed the regeneration of the area with state of the art facilities you would understand the ambition to build a system whereby talent is developed.

It is so easy to go into Talk Sport mode and slag City for spending when every club spents.

Very few big clubs have invested in the local community like City have, but that isn't news worthy.

bigleggy, I watched that game and thought Everton were excellent. Even down to ten men they played good football.

When you hear managers like Allardyce, McCarthy, Ried, warnock etc doing punditry you realise why England has take so many years to get out of the dark ages.

They really are just like the dad on the touchline shouting 'get stuck in' and 'get rid of it'.

At last you can see this sort of dinosaur getting gradually sidelined, and even teams like Wolves, Fulham are getting progressive managers and playing good football. It'll take longer for English managers/coaches to come though in huge numbers with this attitude, but at least you can see it starting off in the right direction. It's comforting to know many of our youngsters are being coached by Pep, Klopp, Pocchetino etc, as well as an increasing number of other teams playing better football successfully. Fans now will not tolerate these guys from the past

It's just so depressing when you hear them doing punditry, but at least you know they're not out on a training field somewhere influencing footballers.

Allardyce especially !

He was on the Deadline Day panel on Sky.

He claimed to have signed Tosun for Everton from Olympiakos - it was Besiktas !
He also said Everton needed to sign a left back as Baines was getting old. We'd signed one from Barcelona the week before.

And he'll still probably get a job sometime before Christmas when a club panics !

The truly terrifying thing is that the FA hired Allardyce, aiming for him to be at the helm for the 2018 World Cup. Imagine how that would have gone....*shudders*

Ah, the beautiful game, remember that? Let's put down some jumpers and have a socially-distanced kickabout. Long shots only, and no hugging and kissing.
