Nellers
Honestly, Fenners, given the choice between Sweden and the Italy team that played them I'd develop a liking for yellow.

75% possession and only 6 shots on target!

Could be worse, the seats have been emptying in Dublin for a few minutes now.

Livermore and Lingard, how do these two even get anywhere near the squad? Neither could command a place in a half decent club side.

If Livermore is the answer fuck knows what the question is.

TBF players like Gomes, Stones and Loftus Cheek seemed to be making case

Gomes was good. I think we should stick with the young players: Pickford, Gomes, RLC, Rashford, Stones, etc. Players who are comfortable with the ball.

Trouble is will our media lay off these youngsters, some of whom have only a handful of first team appearances, if they don't progress majestically through to the quarter finals?

If they get torn to pieces and Southgate sacked then we've moved nowhere.

They won't allow for the fact that the 'experienced' players would have been worse anyway....

...plus our 'promising youngsters' have an alarming tendency to flatline due to lack of first team football, too much hype/money going to their heads, poor lifestyle leading to succession of injuries/fitness issues etc.

Ah, the beautiful game, remember that? Let's put down some jumpers and have a socially-distanced kickabout. Long shots only, and no hugging and kissing.
