What were the intervals JDA? I'm guessing your MP pace is planned to be 6.15 per mile?

Got myself a treadmill this morning for £80, hopefully it'll let me get some long runs in when I've got the kids and can't escape. Not looking forward to hours running on it though

Chris ,where did you get a treadmill for £80 ?

I am thinking that would be a handy thing to have in the garage that would be an option when its bad weather

Just 4 mins hard, 3 off Chris. Couple of weeks ago I managed 3:52 pace, this time I was barely under 4:00 in the stiff crosswind. MP needs to break 3:55 for that 2:45 target - though that will be shoe-assisted of course :-)

Bazo, eBay is your friend but they are not easy to transport. You will also want to check that it's a fairly decent model, upwards of 2HP for the motor and a top speed of 20kmh of thereabouts usually indicates a good quality. I have paid about 180-200 quid for my two which is a small fraction of the new price. I haven't used mine since last winter but am actually looking forward to a few evening jogs with something to watch on the telly (iPad).

Just a used one on gumtree, only goes up to 10mph but that’s good enough for me. Managed to take it apart so it went in the back of my estate car.

Sounds like you weren’t in the mood to push there jda, just get Christmas out of the way and you’ll start to find it easy...that’s what I’m telling myself at the moment anyway

No, seriously, my legs today tell me I was working. Always takes a little while to get up to speed early in the season. Anyway I'll be putting in some solid miles and see where that gets me.

I have a good quality (though old and in need of a service) treadie in the garage and a gym membership with better treadies but I try not use them if I can and then not do more than 10 miles though I have inextremis used them for long runs. I find I'm more prone to injuries which I think is the repetitive nature of running on the belt, outside you can put your foot down differently or have a change of surface, gradient etc but the treadie is unrelenting.

JDA I have no doubt that you'll get to where you need to be by next Spring, as the mileage grows the intervals will become (much) easier and quicker.

I have a treadmill in the garage, unused in over a year. We got someone out to fix an issue with the circuit board a couple months ago but after working when he was here it started playing up again after about 3 days and now the belt stops every now and again mid run. I don't trust it at all and am seriously unimpressed by the £140 we spent on call out and then 'fixing' the issue. The guy who came to 'sort' it hasn't responded to our latest contacts about fixing the issue. I think it'll end up gathering dust again.

That's annoying Brunski - and one of the reasons mine is in need of a service, as long as it keeps going I'd rather leave well enough alone.

Nice profile pic Brunski - I recognise that wind blasted lake even without seeing any water!

Cheers Uyuni, yep you got it...Holme Pierpont HM - all 4.5 laps of it in the wind with my dodgy guts!

Think this was about 7.5 miles in.
