Brunski - Well done on the pb but still plenty more to come off that. I was thinking close to 10 mins faster given yor 10M the other week.

Personally feel I got a lot of benefit from 20 ++ days, ie my PBs came off lots of marathon and also doubles on long run days.
So 20M/+ AM lsr and a faster PM 10km up at to MP I found it so much easier to do than a longprogressive run but pretty much the same training effect

Cheers Hawk,

With better pacing I think I had a 2:49 in me or similar on Sunday and with more optimum marathon training and a bit of work on my diet I think I could potentially knock another hefty chunk off that.

I guess I do need to do more long runs next time out, and I like the sound (I think) of your split long run and then tempo in the pm, but again I think I'd struggle to fit both in unless I did the 20 miler at a mentally early time pre-work.

One to consider though!

I agree with Baz on the benefit of a mid week MLR and LR at the weekend but I also this year, for the first time, did the race sessions on the saturday too. So 15 miles on the wednesday, flat out 10k on the Saturday and long run on the Sunday (with plenty of miles sprinkled into the week too). Really gets you used to running on tired legs.

I'd love to get out on Christmas day but if I do it'll be in the evening stuffed full of turkey. Doing the HM paced run with that in the belly might not be ideal.

Yes. And join the VF thread I set up as you’ll hear much quicker on availability there!!

More seriously, the FlyKnit are snug. I still take the same size as I would in other Nike but they’re a different feel.

Now watching the thread WW.

I'm normally a 9.5, how much do I really care about my toenails?

Dismal set of "intervals" this afternoon in which I didn't quite manage (target) MP pace. But it was windy and drizzly. 17 weeks to go still, it'll be alright on the day :-)
