I'd nudge up the mileage on all the general running rather than exclusively putting it on the long run.

Thanks Folks. I was thinking of just adding miles to the long runs throughout the schedules but adding to all of the general runs does make a bit more sense I suppose.

Well if you only add 2 miles to the long runs and nothing else you'll only get to 57

Thought I'd better do a decent long run before the HM so went for 2h today. Went pretty well considering its my longest run since Manchester but I predict a bit of a struggle next weekend. Lungs are good but legs aren't used to the work. I would say I hope everyone's enjoying the summer but since returning to the UK the weather's turned to shit of course. Though a bit of cool drizzle suits me rather better than full sun anyway |

Well f#$% me that was a hot run - a good reminder as to why I don't run seriously through the summer. Wilmslow is also not as flat as I'd been expecting. I had an "A" goal of doing it around MP - ie 1:22:30 - and a "B" of 1:25 which is roughly equivalent to the 38:30 10k I ran this time last year (I'm sort of hoping to stay just a bit ahead of last year's summer). First 10k in 39ish felt pretty good actually but I worked out later it had been downhill - the second half got a bit ugly Then the 1:25 pacers went past around 18k and I couldn't stay with them, finishing in just under 1:26 and 9th in my vet class. Someone went down with heatstroke just in front of me but they were quickly smothered with marshals so I expect they were ok. |

Well done jda! 👍🏻 The heat doesn’t take no prisoners! ☀️ ☀️ Think I’m going to stick to 10k’s till October! |

Sounds like a tough day jda. I felt good yesterday and turned up to the Newmarket 10k bright and early. Turns out it’s on next weekend, doh! |
