5:40am for 13.1 miles so escaped the sun. But then again I am in Scotland so its very, very, very easy to escape the sun, you just have to stay in Scotland.

Yep, was out there at lunchtime too. Usual start to marathon training plan for me: twisted ankle on the trails and a mile hobble back to the office. Few days off for sure and perhaps time to get some advice on why this happens to me just so often. Not HP Good job it's 18 weeks and not 8 I suppose.... |

WW- Nooooo Hope its just a day or two of rest. Good idea to take advice as there may be some simple strength work you need to reduce the likelihood of this |

Plenty time yet WW - heal fast! 11 miles at lunchtime for me today. Hot and muggy, but not as hot as that experienced by the English runners . I guess it's all relative to what you're used to though! |

What a pain WW. Have you tried using a wobble board to strengthen your ankles?

Noooo WW, maybe you need to stick to a nice flat road for training. Hope it's nothing serious. I'm a commando runner, not much between the legs to cause chafing |

Hope it's just a mild sprain WW, I'm often drawn toward the local trails but get a step wrong (especially in road shoes) and my ankles seem to buckle but so far not that badly. Not sure if I have flexible ankles, land lightly, or have just been lucky so far?

Oh dear WW, that's not a great start. Hope it doesn't set you back too much. Managed a couple of decent runs in the past week, hoping for a parkrun this weekend to see where I am. The great event of the tandem triathlon weekend after! I'm running, wife is swimming (and both cycling of course). Just a fun event but the top few teams are usually quite quick overall. |

That sounds really annoying WW, hope it recovers quickly. Are you doing some kind of regular plyometric strength training?

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I have been running in Western Norway, Orkney and Shetland in the last few weeks which safely avoids anything resembling hot weather. Unfortunately I now have a bad cold. Excess alcohol might also be to blame. I find my alcohol consumption drops right off during proper training (I just don't feel like drinking most of the time) so I have to catch up sometime! |
