Thanks Paul - tried that but still nada. It looks like it is charging when it is switched on as it randomly switches itself on. It is just that the tRaining centre and Fetch don't recognise it and teh USB port doesn't recognise it either :-(

I've just noticed that the last few runs I have uploaded to my training log are showing my HR Zone Summary as 100% undefined. I always upload all the details of a run and not just a summary, and up to the end of May, this worked fine. When I look at the runs in Training Centre, the HR data is populated and the charts show sufficient data points for me to believe it's read my heart rate ok during my runs.

Have any of you had this problem before? Is it a Garmin problem or something that I need to ask Mr Fetch about?

Your max HR field has probably gone empty for some reason. Seems to happen now and again, and sometimes my resting HR changes to an old value too.

looks like my 305 has just died a death. its 3 years old, 6 months ago the sound stopped working but that didnt bother me, a few weeks again it started making a high patch whining noise when it was on charge. During todays race it turned its self off. I managed to turn it back on but then it turned its self off again. the battry should have been full. Tried charging it when i get home but it doesnt even know its in the cradle. Any suggestions?

i think you're initial diagnosis might be correct :-( They lack of sound is usually the first sign of a corrosion problem, which eventually tends to lead to their demise. I managed to convince garmin to swap mine for a new one as this is a 'known fault' but mine wasn't quite as old as yours.

I assume you've tried all the usual soft and hard resets?

...lack of sound... mine went quiet after a few weeks, that was over a year ago and it works fine. (if only the wife would go quiet - one lives in hope)

My Garmin Training Centre automatically opens when the cradle is connected; this seems to have coincided with an update to TC by Garmin.

new 305 ordered,

I have seen some sites saying that after a few years the some of the wire corrode and you can solder them back together, I might try this with my now spare one.

Run Bear Run
Hi all,
Hopefully a quick question. The calorie reading for cycling on my 305 seems to be way off - burning almost as much as running for the same distance.
I've put in my weight and the weight of my bike so everything is as close as can be. I can't believe I'm actually burning 1700 cals on a 14 mile ride...

Any ideas?
