Is the export course to Garmin function working for anyone here? When I try it, it just saves a 0kb routes-export.php file.

My garmin 305 has stopped beeping :-(
I've read this is due to sweat getting in - are there any known solutions.
I bought it Dec-09 so probably out of guarantee now.

Nope, unfortunately not; there's an image On The Net somewhere showing a dead, corroded beeper from a dismantled 305. It would need repairing by Garmin; your options are to live with it or to get Garmin to trade it in for a reconditioned one, which is about £50-60. Annoying, that flat rate, when what's wrong is pretty trivial.
The guarantee's 12 months so yes it will have expired.

This may be a weird question but...JammyLu`s 305 makes a "ringing" noise when it autolaps at every mile. Mine makes a beep...although, it does the same "ringing" thing at the first mile only then beeps thereafter. Any ideas why there`s a difference?

Mine makes a sort of ringing noise.

One of the tips in the article suggests putting insulation tape over the speaker holes - perhaps this is why!!!

beeps for count downs to end of 'laps'
ringing for end of preset period i.e when you are not running to a program yet it alerts you every mile.

* this may or may not be accurate.

There are two ways of getting it to beep every mile: using autolap, and using alerts. They produce different noises. If you do both, you get both noises. I can't remember which noise is which, I'm afraid.
