Just another thing to have to bother with! If I bought anything it'd be the upper arm one that begins with S and has a name I can never remember, spell or pronounce.

Scosche Rhythm+ ? I moved on from that to a Tickr Fit - just as good with much better battery life.

is that the Wahoo one? If so, I'd probably do the same now.

Going back to answer my own query about walking: the 735XT just doesn't have a walking option at all: even though the profile is called Walk and it syncs to Connect with the activity title Walk, it's actually recorded as Other in Connect.

As a workaround I downloaded an app which records "hiking". This goes into Connect as Hiking and into Fetch as a walk, so it's at least a bit less editing. The downside (for me) is that the text on the app is tiny so I can't see how far I've gone or how long it's taken without stopping to put my glasses on. Not sure whether I'll continue with it or go back to the native app and edit post-download.

my 735xt (bought in the last couple of weeks) came with 'hike' as a pre-loaded activity, and I've added 'walking' as a separate activity - to distinguish between fell-walking and road-walking or walking the dog for instance.

'walking' is displayed in Connect (presumably it just re-presents whatever text you've entered) but loads into Fetch as Cross - general, so I edit it here
Haven't had a chance to try 'hike', but will be interested to see how it presents itself

I know the guy that wrote the hiking app (and there is a version of it called Simple Walk). Jim is good at listening to feedback so you can use the 'contact developer' link in CIQ to ask for amendments, or he posts in the Garmin forum a lot and you can contact him there.

The problem goes away on the latest Garmins as 245/645/945 etc all record native walks fine.

Anyone know why my Garmin 645 no longer displays the actual text from an SMS? It just displays "message received." WhatsApp displays the full message and I used to get the full text message too.

Actually, it was quite obvious. Just in my message notification settings. nothing to do with the Garmin settings.

R4R & Sallykte - I just got a 735xt and changed the name of Hike to Walk, and it loads to Fetch as Walk.
May need to ask or feedback to Ian to check 2 x gpx files to see what's missed on the custom 'walk' ?

My question - since it's the first time I've had a heart monitor/trace - what's the green and orange line on the Fecth training display? The orange looks to tag behind the green. Have I got 2 hearts?
