Ah right, cool. I read it as optional refunds for some reason, my bad.

Sounds like the most sensible option for them to have taken. Be interesting to see if the Nationals "autumn" winners will correlate with the Nationals "spring" winners with one taking place at the start of the season and one at the end.

Even well thought through organisations were struggling with grassy car parks over this weekend - I was dropping off a family member at Chester Zoo and they'd had to close all of their overspill car parking which they use all year round whenever I've been there.

Not entirely sure I like the September option. I've blown off cross country races in October before because it's still been too hot.

March and September can be equally warm or equally damp but one major difference that I can see is that the ground is more likely to be rock hard in September than in March!
I'm intending to compete in the British Masters' Cross Country Championships in mid March, I doubt that I will do the "autumn" National and will wait for the 2025 event instead.

British Masters' Cross Country Championships, Rhug Estate
Started fast, blowing a bit after 400m or thereabouts but soon settled into a sensibly fast pace. Worked hard up the hills and strided out on the descents and the flatter sections.
Happy to end a very successful cross country season with 34:28 and 6th in the M55 age group, 2½ minutes off of the podium!!
Very muddy and I didn't realise that I'd bought 15mm needle pins rather than pyramid pins, they're next to useless!!
