I looked at second hand ones when I brought mine - Wattbike did say the guarantee was transferable as in it was the item not the owner.

I ended up getting one of their "seconds" from them with 2 year warranty and to this day csnt see why it was a second. It may have just been used as a demo

You can't really go wrong with a wattbike.

They are stable under load and although support is 100% perfect they do a solid job.

Mine has indeed done a lot of miles. It is 4 years old next month and although I can't give exact mileage it has done over 20000 miles since April 2020 so mileage is between 30 and 35 thousand.

Thanks all.

MM, thanks, I didn’t realise they did a ‘seconds’ scheme. I’ve googled it and checked their site but couldn’t see much mention of it. There was a page that mentioned reconditioned ones, but the links were broken. I’ve signed up to their mailing list, but can you remember how you came across the seconds, or did your just happen to be looking at the right time when there were some available?

I was watching one on eBay that didn’t sell (it was on for £846, and had no bids) and has just been relisged for £550. I’m very tempted but like I say I’m wary of a second hand one, without being able to see it properly first, and actually use it for a short test ride. He’s got good eBay feedback, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that much I suppose.

Yeah, lots of Covid purchases. This one looks like it could be that as it’s a 2020 model - it’s version 1 though, does that matter (version 2 came out in June 2020 I think)? I’ve never looked before so I don’t know how many make their way to eBay usually, but there seems quite a lot.

Big_G it was listed under the wattbike purchase section on their page, it wasn't a massive saving, about £250, but was better than nothing as they were as rare as rocking horse s*** at the time and second hand ones were so expensive. Don't forget that you van get a small amount off with a referral code too from anyone who has a wattbike account

Anyway, I’m undecided still, but I’ve messaged him to see if I can see it first.

I tried a 10 mile TT last night - jeepers, I'd forgotten just how painful an effort it can be if you really go 'full gas'.
