This is not a slur on Manchester as I live in London and well.. that's it really I live in London. I've not been to Manchester since I used to go to the Hacienda in the early 90's. How safe would it be to run along there at 8 - 8:30pm?

I walked from Piccadilly to the new Man City stadium along a canal (at lunchtime, in my suit) and didn't get mugged,despite having a big "MUG ME." neon sign flashing over my head... ... if you want a more picturesque canal run,Marsden's only 30 mins away on the train...
