I could do with some cycling tights for over the winter. My commute is only four miles, but I've got the option to extend on the way home, but unlikely to be out for more than an hour. I like the Altura progel shorts, but can't seem to find a tights version of them, so any other recommendations gratefully received. thanks in advance. |

Altura pro gel shorts with running tights on top? My padded tights are Giordano and they're fine, but I've had them for seven years and am not up to date with what's on the market now, if the Giordanos are in the wash or it's a really cold day I wear fleece-lined running tights over my shorts. |

Altura do a Night Vision tight in a women's fit that seems to get very good reviews

Last time I looked they were only doing the hi-viz colourway in the Pro Gel in men's sizes. After getting my hopes up ...

I've never tried the Night Vision tights so don't know what the pad is like. The length doesn't seem preposterous, though

ah, but at nearly 6' I need preposterous length (or long socks, or both) Thanks both - will look at the Night Vision ones (shorts with running tights on top is my fall back option, but could do with another pair of something anyway). |

I have some Night Vision tights. V'rap - I would actually say they are fairly long - I'm relatively tall and they're not at full stretch on me. I also have some thermal Pearl Izumi bib tights which are toasty. Both otherwise I just wear running tights over my summer shorts. |

I have some of the dhb roubaix (fleecy lined) shorts with similar leg warmers - that keeps me nice and warm most of the time. Especially if I layer up on the top half. If I see a good deal on some warm bib tights, I'll be very tempted though. Especially if they're this colour scheme - wiggle.co.uk |

Being at the other end of the vertical scale, maybe I should look at capris.
