i am trying to sort my nutrition out for this (i know i am anal but i like charts and ticking boxes)
anyway, the thig i read said i should be eating 360g of carbs a day and on race day i should have 130 3 hours before the race

i just worked out the g of my home made granola which i thought would be jammed with carbs - with the yogurt on it it only works out at 40g!!
how on earth am i supposed t get 130 down my neck???
and also
no wonder i feel like sh*te at the end of my long run, i don't have anything like enough carbs on board

yeah - i have bought some "taut" 28g per bottle, to try as it does not have aspartane and all that in it, lucozade makes me heave - we have tons of it in the house (from sainsburys ;-) ) as the boys like it and i let them have it if they are doing any sort of sport but it's too sweet for me

Lurker, my nutritionist recommended 2 cups of porridge with honey, 2 slices of toast with jam, 200ml of fruit juice and 500ml of sports drink. Can't remember the exact carb figure but it's pretty high.

As for a daily recommendation, carb loading guidelines suggest 8-10g of carbs per kg for each day you're loading, which is a bit daunting..

blimey - i was working on 6!!

the granola and yogurt will be the equivelant of your porridge and honey and then i was thinking of adding wholemeal toast and honey and fruit juice - although i am nervous of fruit juice!!

actually i think 6 was on a normal training day

i was not talking about carb loading, i was talking about just the normal amount of carbs you need to be able to train properly and the amount you need to eat on the day of the race
i have no intention of carb loading as it is too complicated
