As some of you will be aware Hamsterbolt as broken his foot! He is very keen to get back to his first love, running! I am very pleased that he is being sensible and following medical advice - albeit that he is massively frustate, having been on crutches for four weeks!. It has been suggested that electromagnetic field therapy will speed the healing of the bone. I have not heard of it previously but I knew where to turn to get valuable advice - Fetcheveryone!

Has anyone experience of this therapy and has it been helpful in rehab?

I am keen to be reading his blogs about training and racing again very soon.

Thanks in anticipation of your advice.

Boing! That's the problem with a +11 hr time difference - you end up posting late on/middle of UK night. Hopefully someone will have some knowledge of EMFT when you wake up in the UK.

I understand your view point Flip, he is faster than me at the moment, even on his crutches!

I had something like this in the late 90s... some guy attached electric whatsits (nodules?) to the top and bottom of my shinbone and it pulsed for 40 minutes or so. The bone felt immediately "better" when I walked out of the physio and for a few days afterwards but I can't say with any scientificness that it *worked*.

This was in the days when you treated the symptoms of shin pain rather than the cause, i.e. doing intervals on zero base miles.

So anecdotally... it made me feel better. Which can't do any harm I suppose.
