Who started this thread?

For weeks I've been trying to work out the rule that changes the thread originator to the most recent poster and back again. For instance, the "10k or HM" thread was started by Revbarbarag, and that's what it shows at the moment, but last time I looked, it had apparently been started by Southwales22, the most recent contributor.

Has anyone worked it out, or is it of no interest to anyone but me?

It has always done that occasionally, but changes back again. I don't know why. But then, I don't know much.

I've probably got it written down somewhere, in PHP. But Fetch stopped being deterministic a long time ago :-)
