I've just booked my next session, first available anywhere in the area, 1st April.

Gosh, that is a long wait.

After my appointment last week being cancelled, I did book on to one on the 25th Jan, but it was at a venue I’d have to drive to. I checked again yesterday, and there was an appointment at a venue literally a 2 minute walk across the road. It’s not until 16th February, but I’ve switched to that one because I’m lazy (and because I haven’t driven in months, and don’t like driving OH’s car).

None of the venues I consider to be local to me have any appointments. I'll just keep checking. Although wherever I go I have to drive there, I try to stay relatively close to home.

Sitting in the “sneaky” biscuit and drink area - the staff have been exceptional once again tonight.

New record of 4 minutes 58 (wish I could run a mile in that time 😂)

WM, the only place I could have got in earlier was the main Poole donor centre but I think that parking's pretty hopeless round there. Driving to give blood is classed as an essential journey.

I've been and donated a pint this evening. They said they're busier than usual, which is good, isn’t it?

I heard an advert on the radio this morning calling for donors (particularly ethnic minorities)

AR, the staying relatively local is nothing to do with c-19. I just prefer to minimise the time it takes. It was so much easier when the mobile unit came to work!
