Jon,

Do you plan to stick with 7reps or will you be adding to that?

JP - Thanks, I thought they may not last very long (maybe 400-500 miles). I have a spare pair but may get another pair. I'm hoping the F-lite 195 can become my training shoe when it comes out and the RC130 can be saved for races.

Jon,

Do you have a goal pace to reach for 12reps?

I was going to use heart rate but do you recommend pace based instead?

Jon,

I was thinking more along the lines of what your final pace goal was for 12 reps. Not necessarily how you were going to go about getting there. Personally I would use a combination of Technique, HR and Pace to reach my goal.

Oh the geekery!!

I am going on my holidays tonight. To welsh Wales if you're interested. I am taking my
kit, may not get my 3 runs in but will try and will be lots of cross training swimming every day....

I will, of course still be fetching as ever...

(not fetching the verb, not the adjective! I'm not that big headed!)

J, I'm not pace goaling right now. My heart rate indicates that my endurance is good but the top end has slipped. I finished each interval with a consistent pace, and could have easily done a load more, but I had a meeting to attend. So aim is to use the same pace and go up to 12 reps. Then work the heart rate up to a proper level for 400s. Then see what that pace is and use it as a better marker for my other run paces.

My only goal is a race on November, I have too much with family and coaching to want to do more than that at the moment.

Main aim right now is to make proper recording of my current fitness so I can train a little more sensibly.

J, Of course my technique is of utmost importance. I actually like to do 30-60sec of drills between each interval. It gives good feedback on how loose you are before starting the next rep.
