I nearly laughed in his face (but I didn't). I just thought, how controlling and in some way, I felt he was enjoying it like watching a soap opera - a life story in texts. I think the lack of trust stems from an on-line indiscretion on his part years ago and which he probably learnt from.

The parents can be quite strict disciplinarians and although she's got a wise head on her shoulders, her street smarts are going to be lacking and I think that's an important part of learning about the world.
