Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I was an awful teenager - slutty little know-it-all doesn't even come close. I'm bloody lucky my kids are Nothing Whatsoever Like Me.
However, I still think accessing all their texts crosses a line. Most stalky weirdos don't use texts anyway.

My brother can see who his daughter is talking to on internet based chat app, so WhatsApp. Tho it's mainly my sil who does the spying.

The dad also said something about a conversation comment and it was absolutely nothing. I nearly laughed in his face (but I didn't). I just thought, how controlling and in some way, I felt he was enjoying it like watching a soap opera - a life story in texts.

I think the lack of trust stems from an on-line indiscretion on his part years ago and which he probably learnt from.

I assume the 15 year old knows her dad gets all her texts?

Yeah she does Carp. She's a pretty sensible, focused teen and I think most of her fun is of an innocent kind. The parents can be quite strict disciplinarians and although she's got a wise head on her shoulders, her street smarts are going to be lacking and I think that's an important part of learning about the world.

I hear these concerns from her friends (my other friends' teens). They miss her and she's been drawn out of their social circle slowly but surely.

Not being able to hear the RD brief at parkrun because people don't want to stop their private conversations.
