I arrived at work with 19 minutes to spare. I like to go for a short walk before going into work, but 20 minutes is my minimum loggable time for a standalone walk. It meant I could go in early like a swot instead.

[Thanks for all the washing machine cleaning tips. I've run two 'empty' boil washes, and we seem to be back in business. I have instructed OH in the need to be more 'washing machine maintenance aware' ;-) ]

Yep, we do bicarb plus vinegar too. Our WM isn't leaving stains but is starting to smell a bit mouldy when unused (the laundry isn't, thankfully) so time for a boil wash tonight, I think.

(not sure OH has touched the WM since I worked away from home for two night pre-pandemic!)

I think I shall stick some bicarb and vinegar in the washing machine and run it at its hottest. Mine too smells a bit. I need to keep the door locked because of the cat.

Oh and the minor disaster: I cleab the house, hoover, mop, then the cat is sick all over the stair carpet.

[LD - think you started 'National Clean Your Washing Machine Day' yesterday ;-) Prompted to clean mine yesterday (used Sainsbury's washing machine cleaner this time). It's always surprising how much gunk has accumulated! As a final thought, it's worth leaving the door open when not in use to avoid a pong!].
