Mine are worn ‘to the death’. The bald soles will be flapping like crocodiles jaws and the uppers full of holes when they are basically binned

Mine have gone to live on a farm where they'll be very happy. It's the same place Goldie the goldfish and Hammy the hamster went.

They become everyday trainers until either they develop a hole in the bottom or it's no longer possible to superglue the sole to the upper.

Recently at work, we had a bit of fun playing 'Would I Lie to You." On my turn, I said that I never throw any of my old running shoes away and put them in the loft as a keepsake. The vast majority of my colleagues didn't hesitate to say that it must be true. If they knew my wife better, then they would have seen straight through my attempt to lie.

My most recent retirees went in the washing machine and are now casual footware.
The previous pair I use for cycling.

I have a couple of pairs (I think) I couldn’t bear to throw out for sentimental reasons. Fairly sure I have my Bob Graham Mud-claws somewhere

One of those shoe recycle bins for the local air ambulance. I don't know what happens to them after that

Personally - my shoes, when they have come to the end of their "running career" - end up as garden...
