B Rubble Jun 2020 8:49am, 10 Jun 2020 2,512 posts	B Rubble I used to abseil down Pontcysyllte Aqueduct when I climbed as a teenager in the 70s/80s when it was allowed to clamber over these things. Also used to rope ascend between the columns. We had to make sure we didn't use our shorter ropes as they didn't reach the bottom. I used to love it - it would probably terrify me now. Now I just love running along the canals!

Wife and I started doing this a couple of years ago. I've lived in London all my 54 years and i'm amazed at some of the places/pubs/buildings we've discovered (e.g. there's a quiet, cobbled, u-shaped street just off Bond Street that wouldn't look out of place in the poshest parts of London yet has a housing block smack in the middle of it that wouldn't look out of place where I grew up in Peckham. Except there were no Mercs parked outside the ones in Peckham...)
