I thought it was people reading the thread when you clicked on it, including you, regardless of whether you are a watcher or not. So when I clicked on this thread there were 16 lurkers/readers including myself and one watcher, you Sharkie, who are also one of the current lurkers I presume..

It's not exactly got legs this thread though, has it?

Controversial threads get loads of lurkers - hardly surprising - but it's more interesting to me that - for instance - there are currently 5 lurkers on the track thread - which I've been posting on all affie.

If they are also followers that makes sense, although there are usually more followers than posters.

But why are they lurking? It's good if they're interested - for whatever reasons. It's not that I find it worrying or anything. But what would make a lurker post? There are now 19 ... that's NINETEEN.

Unmask yourself sir (or ma'am).

But if this develops into self generating counting and quipping thread (dull to me but partly my own fault ) I will never find out the answer to my questions cos I'll get bored and wander off.

Damn my post didn't post and i didn't copy and paste Arrrggghhh

I'm guessing here but its the number og logged in members it counts and not the number reading the thread who are not logged in or heaven forbid not signed up members ;)

Good question but no answer from me But we are dealing with humans i can't fathom them out even in the real world
