That was possibly the most stressful weekend I've ever been through. The least stressful part of it started at 10:09 on Sunday when I crossed the start line. I knew what to do from there. Turns out my parents are NOT the people to visit London with - Saturday was a whirlwind of loose arrangements and trying to make things work, meaning the expo was rushed so no chance of trying to drop anything off for FP. They also weren't sure where they would be standing on Sunday but made it sound like it would be somewhere near FP, so at 13 I was so focused on trying to spot them that I forgot to give you all a wave! I did remember on my way back but not sure if anyone noticed - I didn't stop though. Did 3:51 which is a 38 minute PB. Had to work really hard to forget where I was at times as there were several points where I could easily have burst into tears just for how incredible an occasion it is (hardest point was the first sight of Big Ben!). Crossed the finish line and cried like a baby and had to keep telling concerned people "it's OK, they're happy tears!". Then a stressful journey home - although it's amazing what a medal does for you. They were closing the gates to the platform as we ran down (yes, this is how stressful my weekend was, I had to run for a train after the little jog a couple of hours before!!) and had turned someone away but I showed my medal and that got us on to the train! Well done everyone who ran, and although I didn't really see you all at FP, thanks to all of you who supported and added to the best crowd at any race in the world! |

Oh wow mcshaz - that is one helluva peebee - and you were spotted, by mykey, so you did get a belated shout as you absolutely flew by! I always think that the hardest point is the first sight of Big Ben and realising that he's so very very far away still because you forget about that long long curve along the Embankment! Now off to look at Standers pics and Redheads report....... I may be a while. Morning all |
