Was hoping this was normal practice, but I should just go with original plan. Getting to Brighton is such a faff that's all.

Here's a Q - might ask it on Fetchpoint thread too - any tips for somewhere to shower in the city afterwards? Is there a nearby train station, sports centre or other place where a few quid could get you a shower?

Also, how big a bag are you allowed to leave at bag drop off? Could I fit in shoes, trews, t-shirt, something warm like a fleece etc? Thanks. 6 weeks ish, how exciting! :-)G

Ultra Kanga Kazzaaaaah!!
Cant' think of one off the top of my head but there are (or certainly were two years ago) porta-showers in the Mall after the finish.

Everyone is given a kit bag but it's plenty big enough for a decent change of clothing - and a small kitchen sink ;)

THanks Kazza! I've just googled and looks like Charing Cross station has showers. That's pretty close to finish, innit?

Yeah you're right, they do. Being localish they're not something I generally need to look for! Not sure what they charge. It's not that far though crowds will make for slow progress!

I'd love a shower post-marathon but I think a baby-wipe, a head dunk in the sink and a change of clothes will have to do.

Yup, Im gonna stink. Anyone planning on getting the 8:00 train from London to Norwich, I urge you to change your plans :)

Maybe I'm a minger, but I've always found I can do a reasonable bath in a sink. Soak head/hair (easy with a short/crop cut - racing haircut, Grrr!) get towel nice and wet, use it to wipe of rest of you, change into clean tshirt, undies and trackies/jeans and destroy the ozone layer with clouds of nasty smelly spray. Job done! :-)G
