What's the alternative 'best' alternative? Ran Brighton last year, and wouldn't have wanted to do it again - not 'cos it's a bad one - I just prefer to try different events each year.

Halstead & Essex for me next year then. In fairness, I have a score to settle with that course anyway, and there is still outside chance of getting London through club ballot or if one of our five gold bond runners at work get injured (which is why I got my slot last year - and no, I didn't trip up the guy just to get his slot)

@VJ, As I understand it anyone can measure out 26 odd miles, and create a race, *and* call it a marathon. *And* it doesn't have to be in London! Who'd of thought.... ;P
