Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
This is a nice recipe Lesley, I put some green lentils in as well to bulk it up a bit more.

This one is not slow cooker but really simple and not too much prep.

There's a slow cooker thread somewhere that might be worth checking out.

Short article on plant based diets and their micro-nutrients helping reduce the risk of severe covid. Might be as simple as - the more beneficial nutrients a person eats -> improved immune systems.

It's a pain that english does not have two words for the two types of greater, but does have for the two types the other way (ie, fewer and less). The review article for micronutrients and immune system from the NIH found the connection to a greater number of specific nutrients, rather than a greater quantity generally, and immune function. More is better in this case doesnt mean quantity it means better coverage of a variety of specific micronutrients (to avoid any confusion).

That's an important distinction, thanks Steve. Based on my limited experience I think that a lot of plant based eaters do tend to eat a variety of fruit and veg and don't find 5 a day a problem, eating more like 10 a day. Meat eaters I know tend to have a small number of "go to" fruit and veg and struggle with 5 a day so there could be big benefits in Covid protection from them diversifying even if not following a vegan diet.

I enjoy making myself multifruit smoothies and add kale into the mix. The blender liquidises everything so well, it's not noticeable that green stuff is in there! ;) Good way to get hubby to eat healthy things and I don't like eating kale by itself!
