Hi everyone. I'm hoping some of you might be able to shed some light on this.

I know about having my gait analyised and I always get told that I pronate slightly but not enough to warrant anything but neutral shoes. However, during Sundays Half my Achilies started hurting and since then I've noticed that all my older shoes wear on the outside.

Therefore my question is should I be going for more of a controlled shoe?

On the heel or on the forefoot?

I'm going to be watching with interest. I pronate but wear out my shoes on the outside, both heel and forefoot.

Reasonably normal. If it was on the forefoot it might matter more.

All the advice that seems to be given is about pronation inwards, I have no idea if neutral or controlled is better. I pronate on onside and heel strike on the other! I have no idea where to start!

I'm not a fan of controlled shoes. A more minimal style will control pronation naturally, to the extent that pronation is a thing that needs controlling at all, but if you're used to very cushioned models it's probably best to make the change gradually.

Other opinions are available of course.
