Gromit May 2016 2:30pm, 24 May 2016 805 posts	Gromit Hi guys/gals I know a few of you have been/ run this several times over the years and I'm sure I saw somewhere previously mention of the best insurance to take out , I've seen the BMC insurance , and think I prob need the adventure racing one as the next level down doesn't look as tho it will cover the race .......... any advice ? I'm only doing the OCC so not multi day racing but will be staying in mountain huts during the weeks stay ...... ?
Northern Exile May 2016 10:36pm, 24 May 2016 4,034 posts	Northern Exile If you decide to go with BMC insurance, then it's their "rock" policy you need - it specifically calls out the UTMB, I don't think it makes a distinction between (say) the OCC and CCC/TDS/UTMB. The problem with this is that you have to be a BMC member. The trick here is to sign up to pay by direct debit, that way you get it for half price for the first year. Obviously, you don't have to renew ..... I've been checking this out and a lot of insurers won't touch ultra-marathons over 24 hours in length, don't know why. Sportscover Direct might be reasonable for the OCC.

I've not had anything via email , can't see anything to download and can't find anything about via a Google search ..... Any ideas ?

Northern Exile Aug 2016 11:47am, 25 Aug 2016 4,088 posts	Northern Exile TDS was absolutely brutal. I think that's me done now, I never planned to do the UTMB triple and the race has reminded me of how insane these races are. I'll watch other people do them in future!
