Hello Oranj, I didn’t know you needed a medical certificate for PBP, though to be honest, it’s not a ride I would contemplate. 300k is long enough for me.
Well done on riding PBP though. From the stories I’ve read over the years in Arrive magazine, it’s not for the faint hearted. I’d most probably wake up in a ditch somewhere still attached to the bike if I tried 1200k in 90 hours.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but I found this thread first...

That has upset me Rosehip! 😉

But does explain why I lost a strava crown to him the other day on part of it. Couldn't understand why he was running there!

Looks like I need to set a bear trap on the High Peak Trail by 12ish when he passes a couple of miles from here. 😉

- well if it's the opposite direction then it's not the same route is it

I still think the two Pennine Way directions should be separate records, they're different beasts.

You could meet him at the end as is current tradition and them tell him downhill is cheating :)

Lol, I might just do that. I'm out round Tissington tomorrow so I will certainly look at intercepting him at some point. Going N to S is probably wise tomorrow. Firstly he will have the horrible cold wind that has blown up this evening behind him and secondly he won't be trying to finish downhill over the rocks in Cave Dale at Castleton while trying to dodge the hordes that have hit the Peak District this weekend.

Marcus seems to be flying along ahead of schedule to break his target of 7 hours. Not a surprise really. The Dark and White annual race on a modified and slightly shortened version of the route has a course record of under 6 hours for a 43 mile route. [early October if you're interested RH, I can vouch for the route signing 😉] The current FKT was a fairly leisurely affair with three stops for tea and cake when I was building up for TDS in 2016 and it's nice to see someone have a proper go at setting a real time.
