Interesting how many end up in the same position. I liked both but ended up with Trek 7.5 FX which I love. Bought second hand on Ebay. 1500 miles later has been excellent.

bikeradar.com Some more opinions about the Trek 7.5FX. Generally favourable Treks generally aren't particularly well-specified for the price, but components can be upgraded and if the bike feels comfortable, is light enough for you to handle, and the frame seems to "fit" you, that's more important. Knowing that you'll get after-purchase support and servicing from the bike shop is also worth a lot. eL Bee! and I bought entry-level Trek road bikes in the summer of 2006. They've been great bikes and they're still going strong, though I don't think there's much left of the original bikes apart from the frames. |
