Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Not necessarily. In local races/parkruns I know who is of a similar standard to me and I judge myself against them regardless of their age and gender.

Raemondo - are you a troll? parkrun by definition is a weekly 5km timed run so if it wasn't timed whatv would be the point.

I have enormous respect for the genetically gifted and for those who get out and run despite being genetically handicapped. Some days parkrun is a race for me, some days it is not. For some it is always a race for some it is never a race but still has value for them. That may not be how it started but it is what it is now. And I'm quite certain Raemond is not a troll.

Parkrun of course is an immutable natural law, like gravity or the sanctimony of TERFs, and couldn't possibly exist in any other format or with any minor adjustments. I forgot that, how foolish of me. I thought it was a free thing made up a few years ago that people do for fun.

For someone who's so adamant about others respecting how you choose to be referred to you're not terribly considerate for anyone's else's choices, are you? I am in no way surprised.

I just feel very sorry for you that you can't conceive of a reason to run without needing to compel others to recognise that you've beaten them.

LOL - what a nasty thing to say. In all walks of life people are more or less naturally gifted in areas - arts, sports, science. Absolutely nothing wrong or exclusionary about wanting to be the best at what you do.
