Does anyone know how I transfer a GPX file from this lovely website to my Garmin 235 watch. I ask as I'm doing Baslow Boot Bash on Saturday and would like the route on my watch if possible

You could save your run as a route, then export the route as a TCX or GPX.

You cannot import courses in to the "Modern" Connect. You have to import the gpx as an activity in Connect then create a course from that activity, then delete the activity. The course can then be sent to the watch (I presume, I don't own a 235)

Wolves - I assume you have a navigation app installed on your 235 from the Connect IQ store ? The 235 as supplied by Garmin has no navigation facility, apart from the very basic Return to Start which just shows distance and direction back to start of activity.
Which app do you have, and do you recommend it ?

There is a connect IQ app called dynamic watch which I have successfully used for navigation on the 235.
You plan the route on the website and then save it to the watch.
Open up the app when you want to run the route and there is a line you can follow on the route map.

Search for dwmap in the connectIQ store.

I can highly recommend the Dynamic Watch app. The premium version is great with proper route directions, which is impressive given the limited capabilities of the watch I have (Vivoactive).

I've also just noticed there is an option to import GPX files on the main page as well.
Thanks for info on the premium version I haven't tried it yet but sounds like it could be worth it.

Thanks all I asked Garmin for their advice and they haven't got a clue. I've now downloaded the Dynamic Watch App which seems to do the job, I'll check out the premium version at a later date.

Got something to say?
