DG obviously you know your own limits/recovery - BUT if it was me and I was looking to do a serious PB at Mabo I would bin the Yorkshireman and enjoy it another year. In fact I wouldn't be doing further than 21/22 miles in training. I think you would be better off doing an ordinary LSR that weekend if Mabo is the focus. (sorry!)

Deegee, you're right, you're in a rich vein of form at the minute, you're more than used to running marathons and recovering correctly from them. Go for it!

Thanks for the advice. I decided this year that I'd mainly run for fun, so I'll do the Yorkieman as planned and base my decision on the GNR on whether I feel I can gogogo or not!

Recovery week necessary. Yorkieman is tough! If I don't run at all this week, then so be it!

I wondered how you would get on. What time did you do?

DeeGee, good run. You should come over and do the Haworth Hobble next spring

kcac.co.uk

It's like the YORM's big bad brother. Get round that and you're set up for the year ;-)

Category B, though. Them's proper hills. I live in Grimsby, me. We have nothing like that round here and, quite frankly, they scare me!

:-)

Hills are good for you and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger ;-)

Right, I've slightly mistimed things. My A race is Mablethorpe Marathon on Oct 7.
