I also like the Kanadia as welll and great value.(as had been said you nearly always have to get a size or 2 sizes bigger than normal. Best try them on in a shop rather than buy from the internet)

However recently i bought a pair of Mizuno Wave harier trail shoes (version 2) for £40-00 at start fitness and ive been very impressed with them.

I've run my one proper off-road marathon in Harriers and they were great, but they bashed my arches up terribly on a simple four mile end-of-LSR run on-road because I was running late and in a hurry. So they're strict off-roaders for me.

They're £100 now Derby Tup! I pay £90 with club discount and got my X-Talons for £72 in the Pete Bland January sale.

I have a pair of the Roclite 285 (the red ones) and they were 55 quid at sportshoes in Bradford. I've had them a while mind!

Kanadia are brilliant, I did a 40 mile ultra (in the peak district) with them and have also done trail marathons, fell runs etc.

I have two pairs of Kanadia and despite never running in them, use them as normal shoes, think they are great!

I like my mudclaws, but only get to use them once in a blue moon.

Mudclaws are very specific. I use them for VERY MUDDY. Winter trails I use Mudrocs. Summer I use Roclites.

This, I should add, is because eL Bee told me too. And he is seldom wrong about anything. Fact.
