A lot of the league meets I 'usually' do are evening affairs, SPR, and yes definitely trouble sleeping. I think with competitive stuff it's the adrenaline still coursing round. I often write a race report before even trying to go to bed. Not so bad with training sessions unless they're unusually challenging. |

So I had a call with Cannock and Staffs vets team manager yesterday. Looks like I will be joining their club. We won't move until the summer but will join now and hope to meet a few on social runs as we often visit the bosses mother and brother. |

I've noticed it with races before but don't really mind there. It's probably partly due to me usually training in the mornings so running is part of my wake up routine then when you add the higher challenge of a track session rather than a general run... Probably just need to get used to it and maybe be more strict with my shutdown routine when I get back from sessions. |

Definitely to do with getting used to it.

Oh I actually did ONE jump in the pit last night (from a guessed run up). For a technically crap jump it was quite encouraging.

I ran 14.42 at Battersea Park last night. Not bad for a season opener during marathon training! More to come later on.

Nice work anthony. Big PB and only 13 secs from season goal in first race.

Entered the 1500m at Nuneaton a week on Sunday as well as a few other races today. Second track session today. 2 x (6 x 400m) with 60 sec jog and a lap (4 mins) between sets. (75.1, 74.8, 73.2, 71.8, 71.8, 72.9) then (73.6, 71.0, 73.7, 71.8, 73.7, 72.9). Pacing could be better but all under current 3000m PB pace so solid. |
