Tough Guy is a great event, it's probably one of the most enjoyable events I've done. Slogging through the mud, the obstacles, racing down the hill at the start braveheart style with 2000 other people pumped full of adrenaline.. excellent.

However, the price has skyrocketed over the past few years to an astronomical level (I paid £35 about 5 years ago?) and the obstacles are a little over-hyped. I guess it's more well known now and they can get away with charging more.

Good luck to the Fetchies doing this, you will enjoy it and it's the sort of event that's best run with a buddy or two so you can share all your war stories afterwards.

Hi all, looks like I'm definitely doing Tough Guy Nettle Warrior in about 7.5wks' time - nothing like agreeing to something daft down the pub, is there?

Anyway, whilst the running side of things shouldn't be too much of a problem, I gather some sort of upper-body strength could come in handy for climbing ropes/walls/etc! Can anyone who's done it before suggest some sort of recommended training that might help for this?

Got something to say?
