From the “race” POV it is fair to say that all serious contenders will have no problems gaining entry - even in the vet categories. However changing the GFA criteria mid-season sucks and that’s hard to excuse. Not just for those who are outside the new limits, but there will be others who ran comfortably to their target who now learn that it doesn’t guarantee a place.

Note: There were approximately 6700 GFA entries for the 2018 VLM.

A combination of a blog looking at the allocation of numbers for 2016 (approx 5900 FGA for 2017) and the British Athletics website citing an 800 (!) runner increase on the GFA from 2017 to 2018. Apologies for the delay. |

Everyone whose application is accepted should know the outcome on 15 Aug. If the Fetch GFAers post their qualifying time, age cat, and whether or not they were successful it might be feasible to estimate the "real" cut off needed to qualify for VLM 2020 if there are enough of us. Just a suggestion? |

Greenman, that was a great suggestion back then. Did anything come of it?

I didn't see any mention on any social media of someone having applied for GFA 2019 and not getting a place.
