Afternoon all. HappyChristmasNewYear.
Been away from the thread for a while. And probably the rower too. Lots to catch up on. Some great efforts being recorded. And it's good to see you back in the (sliding) chair Nellers - glad everything went well.
I think I'll be restricting myself to a Friday evening effort for the foreseeable, fitting rowing into a busy marathon plan and relatively busy life, it seems that my Friday rest day suits best.
Last Friday, I decided I couldn't face 8km (as that's where I am on my selective use of the Beginners' Pete Plan) so I opted for 3 x 2km with a 4min recovery. That was 'interesting'. I think I'll just go for the 8km this week.

Afternoon, had a very steady 6k in 30 mins, bit of an uncomfortable back, but all good.
I was amazingly smooth compared to the 6 other people who rowed during this time, some people seem to make it very hard work.

^ That's good progress, Muttley. You can't be far off a crack at sub 8!

I've been weeding my Flickr account and came across this photo from a cycling jaunt I did with a few of the guys from the old UK Concept2 forum back in 2008. The chap in the middle with the blank expression is Pete Marston of "The Pete Plan":
There were quite few keen-ish cyclists on that forum and Harry organised a couple of days cycling in the North Yorkshire Moors (well one long day and then a second day with a substantial hangover ) for seven or eight of us, based around a camping barn. Harry took us up Rosedale Chimney Bank but only two of us made it to the top without having to walk!

'Harry' is Harry Blackwood, BTW, a newspaper editor from Yorkshire. He famously had a bit of a run in with Peter Mandelson.

Nice pics chaps.
And looking at yours Jef, I'm really not maximising that lean at the end of the stroke. Some technique to work on this evening...

Better that way than the other! (To avoid tennis elbow).
