Having had a chat about running with this patient as well as having run in some of the same races, I know that they're a very good runner but have never run a marathon. I suspect the patient may have sighed and said, "Yes, that's right, 10-kilometre marathons."

Took almost as long to get out of the car park as the bloody race itself, because the exit road from the football stadium where the race ended was the finishing stretch of the race. And they didn't open the road until everyone had finished. Needless to say, I never did that one ever again.

I explained that I’d run half marathons so knew that I could manage at least 13.1 miles. He still wanted to speculate on if I decided to go for a run and just keep going, how far I be able to run before I couldn’t run any more!😁 Think he’d seen Forrest Gump maybe. 😜
