The worst sore throat EVER!

OMG! I am in sooooo much pain! Never ever have I had a sore throat like this before. I'm on day 3 and it's getting worse. Throat is so dry and swollen, and is such agony when I try to swallow I'm almost scared to. Nothing helps the pain :(:(:( So far I have tried hot drinks, Tyrozets, throat spray, gargling aspirin, paracetamol, co-codamol, naproxen, olbas pastilles, Night Nurse. Can't believe I'm being such a wuss! Anybody have any good remedies? I just want to cry :(:(:( |

Thanks for all the suggestions AL - have tried that but with brandy instead of whisky. I'm a bit worried about drinking alcohol on top of all my paracetamol! Will try out some ibuprofen, but was told not to if I was gargling with aspirin! collette - will try ice cubes, but will also try cackles idea of ice cream if I can persuade OH to go out and get me some! McG - never heard of dequadin, but will ask OH to get Halls along with ice cream. |
