My aunt (a nurse) swore by paracetamol with a large g & t for a headache, so I have always knocked back a hot toddy with some painkillers :)

Haven't thought of Dequadin for years. My dad used to give them to me if I had a really sore throat when I was a child. I liked them because a. they tasted really nice b. getting some meant I was properly ill and c. they were my dad's and d. they worked.

Another vote for Dequadin here - largely for the same reasons as Cyclops :-)

Hope your throat eases soon, Liliacha.
