But sometimes it is the only option to deal with evil, such as that being perpetrated by Russia on Ukraine and further afield. Past experience shows that if he's given anything or allowed to get away with it, Putin will be back for more. Appeasement never works.

Let's be clear, Putin has no legitimacy in Ukraine, he wasn't provoked by NATO, Russian speakers in the East were not being oppressed until Putin armed them instead of offering to resettle them over the boarder. So no one on this in thread is in favour of war, but equally no one is willing to let aggressors like Putin take what they want.

They're kicking up a hell of a fuss, about if these munitions are used the land will be forever contaminated and that'll be the end of Ukraine as an agricultural producer. Lots of talk of sky-high cancer rates in Serbia and Iraq, blamed on Nato bombing. I'm wondering if anyone with knowledge would like to comment. Is depleted uranium as deadly as the Russians are claiming? Or is this just the usual propaganda bullshit from them?
