I was the interpreter for a visiting BACKFIRE at RIAT one year (at Cottesmore) and was gobsmacked at its poor condition, they won't have got any better.

I was thinking Ukraine would attack the bridge again just before Christmas. Annoyingly I can't find it again, I was reading something, on the Beeb I think, India being very upfront about what they are offering the Russians. The only positive I can hope that will come from it will be China getting pissed off and withdrawing support.

Scholz is not as firm in his stance as he should be and Macron keeps trying to cosy up to Putin. If the German public fear a difficult winter it could be a problem holding the line as regards energy supplies.

As time went on we used to refer to the radars by notation rather than coverterm and nobody really bothered with coverterms for missiles, so it would always be, say, an AS-15 rather than a KENT (is that correct?). Mutts, you forgot Firebars and Flagons. Then Frogfoots, Fulcrums and Flankers and for us, the dreadful Forger Yakolev did come out with a much upgraded VSTOL aircraft for carrier deck ops from the Kiev class (the Yak-141) but there were only a couple of prototypes, I want to say it's coverterm was Freestyle. I used to take my lad and his mate to RIAT every year when we lived within range. Always a great day out. The MiG-29OVT vectored-thrust was there one year, doing things that a jet aircraft cannot do.
