Yep, those missiles slipped through untroubled but perhaps the ADF have been moved away from Kyiv as it's not been under attack for months ........ They've had to deploy what by now must be a dwindling arsenal of 'decent' missiles not to mention the other resources. Could it be a calculated risk to draw attention away from the front and launch another ground push in the next few days before winter and mud stop progress? Quite the reverse, all the indications (based on OS of course) are that the ADF around Kyiv has been bolstered significantly in recent months. How effective they've been against these most recent attacks is hard to judge. One thing I think you do have right is that these attacks must have seriously depleted Putin's missile stockpile, he won't be able to do that again in a hurry.

It seems like a somewhat desperate throw of the dice. The more recent research on the Blitz is rather revisionist about its actual impact on the British psyche versus the contemporary propaganda angle - Angus Calder has written a book called “the myth of the blitz” which is meant to be good, must read it

But the fact the myth, if such it was, took hold is itself a useful bit of 'public spirit bolstering'. The Ukrainian public must be exhausted but there don't seem to be any signs yet of them being ready to give up. At least, we aren't being shown any such signs.

That's not too say the suffering in the affected areas isn't awful and imaginable to us. I think, people in those situations and mammals are massively adaptable, learn quickly to survive, the alternative is rather permanent, but yes they must be exhausted by this, they are showing true grit though, countering the threat becomes the sole purpose.
