Apologies if this point has been raised before, but while I chear every Ukrainian victory, I can't also help feeling that at the other end is some 19 year old Russian kid who doesn't want to be there and won't be going home.

There are victims on both sides, for sure. But that 19 year old Russian kid likely has parents who have been happy with or at least tolerated without dissent, Putin's behaviour over the last couple of decades. I don't mean to sound flippant, but it's chickens coming home to roost, really. |

Either the thing was hit by missiles, or something happened on board that started a fire that spread to the ammo stocks. So the ship's defences are crap, or they've been neglecting their firefighting drills. Neither looks good for the skipper's career. Or for the Russian navy. |
