They'd work fine on track but maybe not as stable on bends, people seem to get on fine though. Interesting to see that the 'basic' Nike Rival Distance (all-rounder really as can be used for most events) spike now looks like a knock off Dragonfly. nike.com These might actually make a good training spike assuming they don't increase injury risk (I've seen a lot of runners pronating in what looks to be an excessive manner in the dragonfly. |

4% are history G, they were replaced by the Next%. Unless you are like Velo or me who still have 4%s in the cupboard!

Right, OK, thanks WW. That was the "original" % carbon plate thing from Nike. Got it. Cheers, G

Yes, 4% were the originals that generated all the fuss. You can still get them preloved/unwanted on eBay and Marketplace. I'm not a shoe hoarder or anything, but I've just started a stashed pair of Lunaracer 3s from when they were the biz. I reckon it's good for me to run in non-plated shoes sometimes, and it's saved me buying another pair of Pegasus to replace the ones that have no tread left. |

I still have a barely used pair of 4%, bought in preparation for the cancelled 2020 season. Think they have done about 1 short race, maybe 2. I like my next% and alphafly so not sure when they will get used up

I'm pretty light, 65kg. Does this mean I should get longer out of my supershoes before the soles degrade?

I'm 66kg and wore mine out in 60 miles. It is about how you wear the soles, my left foot lands on my outsole so wears all my shoes on that side. I did have my vaporflys resoled with thick rubber, and that slowed me down slightly (about 30 seconds on parkrun's) vs a brand new pair, but does mean I now have a pair that I can use for training runs that should last another 200 miles.

Hmm. I actually have Asics Metaspeed Sky, not Nikes, and I've done 104 miles in them so far without any real sign of wear. Maybe they're rather more robust than the Nikes?

J2R,you should get longer I think as long as you have a 'normal' gait, ie you don't wear shoes on the edges. I'm 67Kg and get about 600 miles out of mine (although they lose their bounce more than wear out at that distance for me)
